ALL ABOUT ME!

Hello! I am beginning my third year of the LCLE Doctoral Program. My research focus is on play, literacy, media, and technology. I recently finished up the main bulk of my research, which consisted of online playgroups centered around the children's show Ninjago. It was a lot of fun and even lasted longer than I originally intended due to the participants wanting to keep going :)

I currently live in Colorado Springs, but will actually be moving the week of Labor Day to Maryland! Little nervous for the move right after the semester begins, but I am excited for the new adventure! Along with being a student, I am also a lecturer at the local university, UCCS and will be continuing this position remote this fall. For the past four years I have had the opportunity to homeschool my son, who will be starting 4th grade this schoolyear, and this year my daughter joins the fun as a kindergartener.

I am looking forward to this course, as this fall I will be focusing on courses for my minor, IST, which I'm hoping will propel my research further.
